Registry Cleaner Review

Registry Cleaners

If you have been searching for a good registry cleaner most likely the first thing you noticed is that there are several to choose from. You may be a bit concerned about choosing the right one because of course they are not free. Much like spyware, errors in your registry can cause your system to slow down and other undesired results. Due to this it is important to make the right choice when it comes to choosing a registry cleaner, and this article aims to make that choice easier for the average person.

The Contenders

“We love to be compared to our competition. When our potential customers see how we compare, side-by-side with our competition, we are the obvious choice every time.” -Elton Pereria, co-founder and CEO ParetoLogic.

Choosing the right registry cleaner was hard, even for us. Without purchasing each individual cleaner on the market to try them out first hand, all we have left is the promise from each of them to be the most effective registry cleaner on the market. We were determined however to find out which was the best, and we thought a good test might be to find out which of these companies was confident enough to let us try their software for free. Our friends at ParetoLogic were very eager to prove their software was the best on the Net. They offered to send us a copy of their software, XoftSpySE, absolutely free and if we were not convinced that they offer the best software on the net, they would buy us a copy of any competitors software. I was intrigued by the offer from ParetoLogic but at the same time confused. I had heard of their XoftSpySE software before, but I had only heard people talking about how it was the best for removing spyware. I had to mail them back and confirm. “Are you telling me that your software also repairs the registry on windows pcs?” I asked. Their answer was that not only is XoftSpySE the best anti-spyware software on the net, it will fix more registry errors than any other competing software.

We decided to see how XoftSpySE would do against the other top registry cleaners:

  • Contender #1: XoftSpySE Award winning anti-spyware software with built in registry cleaner.
    (XoftSpySE Registry Cleaner Homepage)
  • Contender #2: RegCure One of the most popular registry cleaners on the net.
    (RegCure Registry Cleaner Homepage)
  • Contender #3: RegistySmart Another favorite from the net.
    (RegistrySmart Registry Cleaner Homepage)
  • Contender #4: Error Nuker One of the oldest on the market, trusted.
    (Error Nuker Registry Cleaner Homepage)
  • The Test

Now of course we realized we couldn’t just use any old PC for the test. We needed to find the most bogged down and poorly used system possible. We started asking around our friends and that’s when a friend of my wife told us about her brother Steadman. Steadman is really into computers. He likes to download and buy just about any piece of software he can get his hands on, just to try it. Once he is sick of the software, he just deletes the program files in order to make space for new files. I knew his computer was going to be perfect for the test, so I did something I never thought I would do. I made an image backup of one of the most bogged down and junked up computer systems I have ever seen. This way, I can restore the system back to the way it was before it was cleaned with each cleaner.

    The Results

Program Problems Found Scan Time Problems Removed Clean Speed
    XoftSpySE 6143 22 seconds 6143 2 minutes 28 seconds
    RegCure 6143 39 seconds 6143 2 minutes 52 seconds
    RegistrySmart 4323 2 minutes 43 seconds 4323 1 minute 21 seconds
    Error Nuker 2411 1 minute 19 seconds 2411 14 minutes 8 seconds

    Conclusion

I was very impressed with the speed of XoftSpySE. I’m also confident that it repaired every problem in the registry because not only did it find the most problems, RegCure found and cleaned the exact same amount. This must mean that they both cleaned them all. If you are looking for a registry cleaner, and you think that you might also have problems with spyware, you should really give XoftSpySE a try. The software found and cleaned 152 spyware threats from our test machine. None of the other registry cleaning software had any kind of protection against spyware. If you are already satisfied with your spyware protection, then you might want to give RegCure a try. It is a little bit cheaper than XoftSpySE because it does not have anti-spyware built in. RegistrySmart and Error Nuker took considerably longer and fixed a considerably less amount of registry errors. It is clear that XoftSpySE and RegCure are the best registry cleaners that we have come across. I recommend you give one of them a try.

    The Winner

XoftSpySE has won our competition for the title of best registry cleaner. RegCure was able to find and fix just as many errors in our test, but the speed of XoftSpySE plus the added bonus of spyware protection really puts XoftSpySE out in front. As one of the best programs for anti-spyware, and cleaning your registry, the value of XoftSpySE simply can’t be beat. First step to make money on the internet!

    By John Mettie

Well, first you have to read the initial post to this category, so you will know that I am going to post my results as I progress through the steps of adding “Pull” advertising to make money on the internet.

So here we go, the first step of course had to be already done, so I could have a place to post the results, and that was to explore the different blog options open to me. Obviously, you are reading this on a blog, so I thought to give you a heads up on the reasons I wound up with my blogs here on my own domain.

My first attempts at blogging were to review the sites open to me as a location for my blog. The most prolific was http://www.blogger.com and it is free and offers a lot of options. I set up my first blog there and have decided to leave it there as it is stable and monetized with Google adsense and my Commission Junction affiliate links to my online shopping mall.

You can see it here: http://www.intekcomputer.blogspot.com
The PHP coded online shopping mall website that the links point to on my different blogs point to can be seen here: http://www.yourfavoritestores.com. Your favorite Stores.com has been a chore, but I have had it for years and it does make me some money, so I attempt to keep it maintained as to retailer additions and deactivations.

I also set up blogs at Squarespace, Vox and others, but I won’t go into why I didn’t continue with them right now. Suffice to say that blogger.com, a Google site, remains the only third party blog site I use.

After reading internet reviews of Typepad, Wordpress, and others, I became intrigued with Wordpress as it was offered preinstalled by most CPanel hosting companies via Fantastico, and a wealth of widgets and themes were available from users and coders. Since I already have several hosting companies I use, I experimented with Wordpress in sub domains and sub directories. After many failures, false starts and reading, I finally had some success at a real estate blog located at http://www.simplestreams.com/blog.
Since www.simplestreams.com has fallen into disrepair over the years as the multi-level affiliate programs waned away, I was using several money making sub domains such as the following site: www.moviehelp.simplestreams.com to make amazing money using Clickbank and Google Adwords. However, P2P networks and Adwords keyword changes brought this to a standstill and I had to discontinue this particular income avenue.

I have several other sites that make money on the internet for me, however again I say this site is to track the progress of a different source of internet income using “Pull” content information that is of interest to someone to bring them here to perhaps follow links to more information that will make you money as they click on your ads and links.

I may continue the real estate blog, however my overall goal was to post information I knew a lot about. Instead I may upgrade my user website http://www.yourfavoritehomepage.com which as a computer builder and provider to small business, I set this page on all the computers I sell and the users are making me adsense money when they use the google search and the affiliate links I keep current.

Since I make my living as a computer consultant and an internet marketer, and since I am also an avid computer, movie, gadget, electronics, music, dog lover, boat, software user, and a webmaster, I decided I needed to concentrate on writing about things I had a passion for.

The reason I chose to create my own blogging site is that the major effort of working with hosting companies and using FrontPage, Dreamweaver and other web editors has already been done and it was easy to set up domain names, hosting, and Wordpress installations. Now I can setup as many blogs as I want, monetize them and post to them as often and as I like.

So now, here is a monetized blog, with new, updated content that the search engines like, and the first posts have been created and I have made $45.00 so far on adsense content and search clicks. We will see where we go from here.

Within the next few days, I will post Step 2 as to how I setup the site for making money and where I got the code and links for adding to the site. Stay tuned!

Can you make money on the internet?

    By John Mettie

As an internet marketer of many years, I have explored most of the ways for making money on the internet, and have succeeded in making money on the internet!

When I first started my internet business, the main way to get money was to get people to join multi-level affiliate programs under you and hope they did the same. I have done this with some success. Promotion was the hardest part, being limited to such things as opt-in e-mail, FFA pages, autoresponders and heaven forbid, SPAM. (Arrrgggghh, more on that later!)

The next phase was, and still is, Clickbank and Google Adwords. A lot of research and plenty of adrenalin rushes, but a more legitimate way of making money, and the amazing successes with this combination are powerful and lucrative.

Another key method for making money on the internet is with the affiliate brokers as I call them such as Commission Junction, Linkshare and others. I belong to them all and have used the affiliate links from major online retailers such as Overstock, Toolking, Dell, Sony and literally thousands of others to earn commissions, all paid by the broker rather than the retailer. Again the major obstacles here are website maintenance and promotion.

Each of the above methods can be debated and analyzed forever, but the point of this post is to explore the most current method for promotion and making money on the internet that I am now exploring.

The internet continues to grow with webmasters trying to invent new ways to promote the site and make money; we are seeing the promotion break into two distinct methods of advertisement, The Push and the Pull.

Many internet marketers have, and still do, push advertising like pop-ups and direct e-mail; however web surfers are growing tired of this method and are avoiding pushy advertising, so webmasters who understand how to pull consumers to their sites will win in the long run.

What is happening now is search engine promotion and providing information that the customer is searching for. Web surfers are looking to receive information when they ask for it and want to know more about the subject or product. So the change in successful marketing is weblogs or “Blogs” as they are called to post the information you know something about and monetizing the blog with relevant ads generated using third party content ads from providers such as Google and Yahoo.

So, as an internet marketer, well versed in the “Push” method, I am now setting up this “Pull” method for making money on the internet. What I want to accomplish here is to post the steps I am taking and the successes and failures that occur as they happen. If you want to make money on the internet, then follow along as I post the results.
